Diana M. STANCU is the managing director and leading consultant for the Safe and Secure Skies. She has been working in the aviation industry for an extended period of time having held positions ranging from legal advisor to head of unit.

She started her aviation career at the Romanian Aviation Academy as a legal advisor acting in the same time as an instructor for international aviation legislation.

She continued her career at the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority as an inspector in which capacity she was organising and conducting on-site audits/inspections, monitoring and follow-up activities.  

She was later appointed head of the Air Operators Surveillance Unit with responsibility for the process of certification of the national air operators (planning, leading and managing a team of inspectors within the certification process of national airlines, including management and monitoring of workload), performing safety and security inspections/audits, and assessing security, safety and quality management systems.

She led her team to create operations manuals and procedures, to design and promote safety and security policies. She also acted as a legal advisor to the Director of the Flight Operations on the legal aspects of the European priorities regarding aviation safety and security.

In addition to the practical experience, she holds a range of diplomas and professional qualifications and certifications such as: a Masters in Air and Space Law, ICAO AVSEC PM,  ICAO AVSEC National Auditor/Inspector, ICAO AVSEC Instructor, IOSA auditor, Quality System Assessment, Audit Techniques, AVSEC Quality Control, just to list  a few.
